Before you type it in

What happens to your idea

A fair question to ask before pasting something you have not told many people into a box on a website. Here is the whole answer, with a link to the clause behind each part - because a promise on a marketing page is not a promise.

  • Your idea stays yours

You keep all rights to what you submit. NELL gets a limited licence to host and process it so the product can produce your reports - nothing broader.

    Terms, section 5.1

  • We do not publish it, show it, or market with it

Your submissions are treated as confidential. We do not put them in case studies, decks, demos or marketing without your explicit written permission - and permission for one use is not permission for another.

    Terms, section 5.2

  • No model is trained on your idea

Producing a report means sending your text to AI model providers. We use them under terms that forbid training on content submitted through our account, and we do not train models on your content ourselves, or sell it.

    Terms, section 5.3

  • Nothing you type is captured in session replay

We use analytics and session replay to find where the product confuses people. Every input is masked before a recording is created, and the pages that display your idea back to you are masked too, so the text never leaves your browser in a recording.

    Privacy policy, section 3.2

  • You can delete it

You can remove a submission, or ask us to, and we will - subject only to the backup retention window described in the privacy policy.

    Privacy policy, section 7

What this is not

It is not an NDA, and it does not stop anyone else having the same idea - nothing can. What it does is bind us: we do not publish your submission, we do not train on it, and we do not use it to market ourselves. If you need a signed mutual NDA before sharing something, say so at vision@nellailabs.ai and we will sort one out first.

Questions about any of this go to vision@nellailabs.ai. The binding versions are the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy.
